A Midsummer Night’s Dream

'Lord, what fools these mortals be!' - Puck

You have to admit, they have a point.

Hermia loves Lysander. Lysander loves Hermia. Hermia must marry Demetrius. Demetruis wants to marry Hermia. Helena loves Demetrius. When Hermia and Lysander flee Athens to elope (secretly followed by Demetrius, who is secretly being followed Helena) they stumble into some woods inhabited by the fairies. The fairies are in roughly the same level of mess. King and queen of the fairies are fighting, and his majesty decides to get some vengeance. And then there's The Mechanicals. A troupe of actors who just so happen to be rehearsing in the woods. When the three groups cross and a magical flower gets involved, chaos ensues! People are falling in and out of love, and a man gets (sort of) turned into a donkey.

So maybe the mortals aren't the only foolish ones.
